Frequently Asked Questions

Can I earn professional development credit for completing any of these courses?

Yes. You now have 3 choices, depending on the requirements from your district:

  • Certificate of Completion: When you complete a course at 80% or higher, you will receive a certificate of completion. For some teachers/districts, this is all that is required to meet professional development requirements.
  • Continuing Professional Education credits / Continuing Education Units (CPEs or CEUs): If your district requires CPEs or CEUs, the possible credits earned will be calculated based on the number of credit hours available for the course you choose, which may be 3, 6 or 12 hours. You must complete the course in its entirety with an 80% or higher score in order to earn credit. The Certificate of Completion is typically used to document CPE/CEU completion.
  • Purchase 1 Continuing Education Credit from the University of Central Missouri (UCM): If your district requires continuing education credits from an accredited university, you can enroll for 1 continuing education credit at the completion of a course at 80% or higher at an additional fee of $52.
